Kitchen Bounty: North Carolina, United States; After a successful 20-year run as an English teacher in a small Indiana rural town, I gave up the profession to pursue my interest in the arts. I opened my studio, Thirteen Hawks (the number and the bird constantly follow me), in the lakeside villages of Saugatuck/Douglas, Michigan where, for 13 years (see, I told you), I happily labored away until The Great Recession hit. I now find myself semi-retired and living in North Carolina (a state with 13 letters). I love to cook and to experiment. I'm not into the exotic and the expensive. Instead I'm always on the lookout for a common-sense, creative, great-tasting recipe. I also love grocery stores and work in one part time. If you like my blog, tell your friends about it.
